Izzah Amzan
Izzah Amzan discovered Rhythmic Gymnastics at the age of 5. It was then that she knew the sport was for her, dedicating her life to it for 18 years before retiring at the age of 23. She was trained under the guidance of Ms Elena Mesheryakov competing in various national and international competitions before being selected into the National Team at the age of 12. She was coached by Ms Julia Ivanova who is currently the National RG Coach. Izzah has achieved great success throughout her RG career representing Malaysia in countless international competitions. She has competed in 3 World Championships and numerous World Cup's competing alongside world class gymnasts all over the world. Her highest achievement is bagging a silver at the Commonwealth Games, Gold Coast in 2018 and a bronze in the Commonwealth Games, Birmingham in 2022. She also won a gold and silver at both 2017 and 2019 Sea Games. Izzah has tremendous experience as a National Gymnast and it is now her passion to share her knowledge to the next generation of gymnasts as a coach. She is passionate in coaching young girls and believes she is able to contribute to the development of the sport.
Nur Naieme
Naieme started Rhythmic Gymnastics at the age of 4 and pursued the sport for 13 years before retiring at the age of 17. At age 5, she trained under the guidance of Ms Eriko Akebayashi (Japan) who is the current National Group Exercise Coach. At the age of 11 years old, she was selected into the National Team and trained under Ms Julia Ivanova (Russia), currently National RG Coach for Malaysia. Naieme has competed in multiple National competitions such as MSSM, SUKMA, National Championships and Sports Excel. She also had the privilege to travel the world for International Competitions including countries such as Japan, Greece, Italy, Poland and Spain. One of her highest achievements is having competed in the Junior Commonwealth Games held in Namibia and placed 2nd Overall Champion. She was also involved in Group Exercise competing at the Asian Championships in 2018. She is thrilled to be coaching as she is able to pass down her knowledge to up and coming gymnasts. She loves seeing girls grow and is excited to help develop their talent to the fullest potential.
El Regina Tajudin
El Regina was selected for the Malaysia national Rhythmic Gymnastics team in 1995. She was coached by Mrs Irina Gabashvili and has competed in countries such as Australia, Canada, Uzbekistan, China and Russia. Her achievements include being part of the 1998 Commonwealth Games gold medal winning team (together with Carolyn Au Yong), and was awarded the Pingat Pangkuan Negara (PPN) by the late Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah. Regina has more than a decade of experience coaching Rhythmic Gymnastics. She believes in contributing to the development of the sport at the grassroots and young gymnast levels. She enjoys watching her students grow and developing their talents in the sport.
Jeannie Yeo
Jeannie started Rhythmic Gymnastics at the age of 7 and pursued it for 6 years before retiring. In her years as a gymnast, she represented Malacca state in MSSNM, MSSM, Sports Excel, National Championships and SUKMA. She has trained under Ms Julia Ivanova (the current national coach for the Malaysian RG team). Jeannie has been a CSRG coach since 2013 with level 1,2 and 3 coaching qualifications sanctioned by Malaysian Gymnastics Association (MGF). She is passionate about bringing out the best in her students and with that, pushes her gymnasts to their best abilities. Her students have qualified and achieved good results at various state and national competitions such as MSSS, MSSD, Bakat and National Circuit.
Rachel Cheng
Rachel started Rhythmic Gymnastics at the age of 7 and pursued it for 10 years. She was selected for Selangor state team at the age of 9 by Ms Elena Mesheryakova (Uzbekistan) and at the age of 10, she got selected for Malaysia National Rhythmic Gymnastics Team. She was coached by Ms Svetlana Mekantsishvili (Georgia) for 5 years and was under National Group Exercise Coach Ms Eriko Akebayashi (Japan) before retiring. She has competed in countries such as Thailand, Luxembourg, Poland, Greece and Japan. Her achievements include being part of the 2018 Asian Championship in Malaysia winning the bronze medal. She is passionate and believe in sharing her experiences with young gymnasts.
Emy Elena
Emy began her Rhythmic Gymnastics career at the age of 6 and pursued it for 12 years. She represented Kuala Lumpur, since the age of 8 having trained by the current National RG Coach, Ms Julia Ivanova (Russia) and Dr. Svetlana Mekantshivili (Georgia). Emy has competed internationally where she was also coached by Ms Eriko Akebayashi (Japan), Malaysia's current National Group Exercise coach. Among her notable achievements were, Most Promising Sportswoman (MSSWPKL) and Personality of The Year Award (MGF). Emy was also a competitive Latin American and Ballroom dancer. Her passion for dance also extended to ballet where she obtained Distinctions in the RAD examinations. Upon her retirement, she gave back to the sport by serving as a dance coach and assistant choreographer in the RG National Team, grooming the KL state team into winning various national competitions in both individual and group exercise categories. Emy is passionate about the holistic development of kids where she believes RG is a great platform to enrich skills like coordination, team work, discipline and self-confidence from an early age. She also finds fulfillment when she sees gymnasts grow into their fullest potential.
Shaleny Silvarajan
Shaleny started rhythmic gymnastics at the age of 7 years old and pursued it for 10 years. She was coached by Ms Carolyn Au Yong herself during her days as a gymnast and has participated in several gymnastic competitions. Shaleny is a Physiotherapist by profession and has been in the field for 7 years, whilst specialising in paediatric conditions. Apart from that, Shaleny's passion for kids has encouraged her to pursue studies in special needs education. She is also a certified yoga instructor and is currently teaching kids aged between 4 - 15 years old. By having a rhythmic gymnastics background, she has learnt many skills that mold her to be a versatile individual. She aims to inspire younger gymnasts to develop their skills in the sport as she finds it enriching to see progress in young girls when they not only learn the fundamentals of RG but also when they learn discipline, team work, and dedication at an early age which is pertinent to their development.
